More Information

Types of Fencing We Install

We install close-board fencing, feather-edge panel fencing, lap panel fencing, post and rail fencing, post and wire stock fencing, and simple post and chain boundary markers. For garden privacy we most commonly install close-board or feather-edge fencing, which is strong, long-lasting and looks good from both sides. For rural and equestrian properties we install post and rail in treated softwood or hardwood for paddocks, field boundaries and driveways. We advise on the most suitable type for your specific situation when we come to quote.

Posts Set for Long Life

The quality of a fence is only as good as the posts it is built on. We set all our posts in concrete or use metpost spike supports where appropriate for the ground conditions. We use treated softwood or hardwood posts of the right length for the fence height, ensuring they are driven or concreted to the correct depth. Getting the posts right at the start means the fence stays upright and true for years. We have seen too many fences put up by others fall over in the first winter because the posts were not set properly.

Removing Old Fencing

If you need your old fencing removed before the new one goes in, we can take care of that as part of the installation. We pull out old posts, including concreted posts where necessary, remove all old panels and rails, and dispose of the waste responsibly. Where old posts can be left in place and re-used, we will tell you honestly whether that is a good option or whether fresh posts will give you a better result. We do not cut corners on post work.

ABOUT US

Future Trees & Garden Maintenance was founded over 20 years ago right here in the Fordingbridge area. What started as a small tree surgery business has grown into a full tree and garden maintenance service covering the SP6 postcode and beyond. We are proud to be NPTC qualified, which means our arborists meet the nationally recognised standard for safe and competent tree work. We have worked in back gardens in Breamore, along the lanes of Woodgreen, on large rural estates near Rockbourne, and on roadside trees throughout the New Forest fringe. We installed a new close-board fence for a property in Alderholt where the old lap panel fence had been blown down in a winter storm. The garden backed onto open farmland and the fence needed to provide real security and privacy for the family. We replaced the entire run of 40 metres with pressure-treated close-board fencing on concrete spurs, which will give the customer decades of reliable service even in exposed conditions.
